Why We Are In Love With Item Upgrade (And You Should Also!)

Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The process of upgrading an item, often known as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment boosts a stat linearly.

Players can recycle six items at one time to gauge the upgraded component of each item.  item upgrading  of recycling an item varies with its rarity and level.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade to an item is a method to increase the stats on your armor and weapons. This can be achieved through many different methods such as using upgrade components and increasing an item's mark level or rarity. A lot of items can be reforged in order to increase their value.

Upgradeable items are available throughout the game, both around the world and as rewards for missions. They can also be crafted by players. Upgrade components are the most common method to upgrade equipment. These are items that slot into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with slots for upgrading, and many require a certain level of upgrade. Certain upgrade components provide specific bonuses, while others offer an overall bonus.

There are a variety of upgrade components that are available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments can be placed on any equipment, and offer less than upgrades for specific equipment. Glyphs can only be found in gathering tools. They offer a variety of bonuses, ranging from increasing the speed at which an item gathers to supplying additional crafting materials.

To upgrade an item, simply select it in your inventory and open the Upgrade window. This will display an overview on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected stats are after the upgrade, as well as any required components or materials. If you don't possess enough of either the upgrade button will show as Blocked.

The upper-right side of the screen shows the number of upgrade components needed for a particular item. The cost of upgrading increases depending on the level of the upgrade and its rarity, but can be reduced through many different methods, such as buying upgrades at a merchant or trading them with other players.

Nearly all weapons can be upgraded with a prefix upgrade, such as an insignia or a rune. Many can be upgraded using an upgrade suffix. These upgrades can be used to add an adjective to the name of the item for example "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to convey visual information. They animate to capture the viewer's attention and spur curiosity in the brain. The animation of glyphs resembles the body language and makes them more effective in conveying an inter-linguistic message. Glyphs can also enhance the likelihood of remembering the message by triggering an experience of familiarity in the brain.

Each glyph increases the value of a stat by certain range. This is clearly displayed on the item, when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is the maximum value that a glyph could improve a stat by, not the amount that it will actually increase the stat by. The value of the glyph will depend on the tier and the quality of the item you are in awe of.

The majority of upgrade components that are inserted into items can't be removed or replaced without dismantling them, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a glyph or rune you do not want to use, but it hasn't been incorporated to gear yet, you can move the item to a different piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu in the Glyphs Panel. This will create an entirely new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

If you wish to remove the glyph from an item you must salvage it with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. This will cause the item to be destroyed in which it is installed however, you can salvage the upgraded item using the glyph and its fragments, therefore, it shouldn't be considered a loss.

When you take away an item after adding a glyph the shards from that glyph will disappear. You can also add a glyph to your equipment to give it a bonus. For example the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and distribute it slowly instead of all at one time. This is beneficial for players who suffer many hits from enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens allow players to alter the affixes on their equipment and weapons, and they can be obtained in various ways like mistery boxes or as a rare drop from skulled creatures, or from killing bosses. Reroll tokens give the player a brand new random affix that is usually superior to the original. Reroll tokens can also be used to improve the weapon's stats to increase damage or bonuses.

Rerolled items don't appear in the menu of upgrade options, however they can be upgraded. By pressing the "upgrade button", you can recycle these rerolled items. This will alter the layout of the item's window, and allow up to six items to be chosen to recycle. The level gauge is boosted by recycling an item. This amount is determined by the rarity of the item and its level. Thus, items with higher levels are more valuable for recycling than items with lower levels.

In addition to reroll tokens, players can make use of Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to roll the Weapon Traits of an upgraded unit. Rerolls will roll a % chance to determine a weapon's trait. If it scores higher, then the weapon is upgraded. If it rolls lower the weapon remains as is. Weapons can be rerolled up to three times.

Rerolls are a good option for upgrading an item, but players must be aware that it will reduce the overall ilvl the weapon due to the number of rerolls required to increase the weapon to its ultimate ilvl. This effect of lowering is most effective for Diadems and rings that don't have competing ilvl-raising options.

The reroll system has been criticized by players for being expensive and it's more fair to let people pay for it with money or a food item that would allow them to change their build without spending too much time and energy. The developers have no plans to introduce paid rerolls at this point in the game's development. They're planning to include a potion that will allow players to alter their race in the near future.

Leveling

There are many ways to boost the value of an upgrade to an item. The most effective method to level up an item upgrade is to increase the amount of upgrade. This boosts the value of an upgrade for a stat. The alternative is to increase the impact of the upgrade, which increases damage or healing for a stat. The base item can be upgraded to an advanced upgrade type. After this, the new item will maintain its iLevel but it will benefit from the upgrade effects of the upgraded type of item.

When upgrading items It is crucial to keep in mind that upgrades are random. In the majority of cases the best roll will come from the glyphs, but there are also opportunities for greater or special rolls. In addition the iLevel of the upgrade will be determined by the type of item, so when you upgrade a unique or rare item to an extraordinary type, it could gain an increased iLevel.

Upgrades can be expensive particularly if you are upgrading your equipment from the standard track to the legendary. The cost will depend on the item's base iLevel and the amount of upgrade levels it has. Certain upgrade tracks require crests to be completed in order to move on to the next level.

If you're lucky your upgraded item will be at the highest level of its upgrade track, and will unlock a bonus effect. This will provide a significant boost in the upgrade value of the item. The bonus effect will change with each upgrade level. In general, the effect of upgrading is increased by +3.

The iLevel can also change depending on the item's upgrade path and its base level. For instance, a weapon that is upgraded from a rare or exclusive item to a rare or exceptional item is likely to be upgraded to the Enhanced Defense of the base item type.
